What stands out
- QRIS is the fastest-growing channel, growing faster than mobile banking and much faster than internet banking. More merchants accept it, and since 1 October 2026 small payments carry 0% MDR.
- Phones beat computers. Mobile banking grows three times faster than internet banking. Your checkout must work well on a small screen.
- Instant bank transfers keep growing. BI-FAST makes transfers between banks fast and cheap, which is why customers expect money to move in seconds.
What this means for online shops
- Offer QRIS at checkout. It is where customers are moving. See how to accept QRIS payments.
- Design for mobile first. Read 9 checkout tips to turn more orders into paid orders.
- Confirm payments automatically. With millions of payments a day, manual checks of transfer receipts do not scale and invite fraud. Use a webhook instead. See how to stop fake transfer receipts.
